In this month's newsletter, Auren addresses two areas within sectional titles schemes that are often mishandled, either by members of the body corporate, or by the scheme's trustees.
His first article highlights the importance of following the correct channels before converting a garage within a sectional title complex into an extra living area, office, or rental unit. The impact that this type of renovation can have on the logistics of the scheme may be a lot more significant than initially meets the eye, and both members and trustees must ensure that they have done their due diligence before undertaking or approving these types of conversions.
His second article focuses on the remuneration of sectional title trustees, discussing the legality surrounding the payment of both member and non-member trustees, as this process is not one-size-fits-all from a legal perspective.
You can read both articles in their entirety under the "Articles" section of this email.
